Position Overview
The GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) team will partner with Design & Product Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Supplier Quality, Process, Manufacturing and other functional areas. Reporting to the BIW Director, the position is accountable for a defined section of manufacturing for providing Technical support and Process Engineering to assure business objectives are met or exceeded in the areas of Quality, Cost and Delivery. This position will also provide leadership and guidance for the Process, Manufacturing & Quality Engineers within each shop.
Position Responsibilities
• Crictical analysis of the Product Design and guarantee the tolerances will be achieved by the Manufacturing
processes before release the Product drawings by Engineering.
• Ensure drawings follow the GD&T international standards (ASME Y14.5 or ISO 14405).
• Support DFMA cross functional team regarding fixture, jigs, tooling, process references and checking
fixtures concept definition.
• Create and validate Manufacturing Datum strategy based on Design.
• Validate process control plans from all areas ensuring support Dimensional vehicle condition.
• Support and validate GD&T Measurement programs for all components.
• Approve tolerance and vehicle specs deviation (Design, Engineering & Manufacturing, Consensus).
• Ensure the Product Launch overall dimensional targets are achieved.
• Training the Technical team on basic knowledge of ASME and ISO GD&T standards.• Degree in relevant Engineering field (Automotive, Manufacturing, Mechanical).
• Work with Engineering to develop the Manufacturing Datum Strategy for all parts and subassemblies of the vehicle to ensure requirements.
• Work with Processes and Manufacturing teams to validate Checking Fixtures concepts and references.
• Guide all VinFast shops to have a common data reporting mechanism.
• Assure the development of Process control plans for all quality dimensional systems including type of measurement systems, inspection methods, checking fixtures strategy & Dimensional validation programs.
• Guide the vehicle integration from Design to the Start of Production (SOP).
• Assist all shops on Dimensional issues and support Cross Functional Team problem-solving.
• Work with Product Engineering on best solution for gray areas.
• Approve any dimensional deviations that impact Manufacturing, Design or Product Engineering.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
• Degree qualified with relevant experience, being an expert in your field with in-depth knowledge relating to GD&T for automotive dimensional engineering.
• Proven track record of applying GD&T approaches and solutions to design development in and/or for automotive industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and operating CAD, CATIA, TeamCenter.
• Familiarity with of ASME and ISO GD&T international vehicle regulations and standards.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle architecture analysis.
• Strong problem-solving techniques & skills, statistical process capability, root cause analysis and ability to grasp and effectively use technical concepts and data information.
• Highly motivated, self-starter, and active learner with strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in multi-national relationships.
• Strong English communication skills able to lead and manage meetings with local and international audiences across all levels of the organisation.Thưởng
