Our Tech stack:
- Our core services consist hundreds of Golang microservices built around domain oriented, event driven architecture. All run on GCP, GKE, Istio with autoscaling, resiliency and chaos engineering mindset with full end to end observability.
- Our mobile platform was running on Flutter, component based, composable architecture. Web app largely on TypeScript, React, NextJS, Tailwind CSS and composable in-house design components and framework.
- DevSecOps culture, you are fully responsible with design, build, and operate your own services with support from SRE, Platform team as needed.
As Head of Engineering, you will be the strategic leader responsible for all aspects of our super app's engineering function. You will set the technical vision, build and manage a world-class engineering team, and ensure our platform can handle the ever-growing demands of our users and services.
Responsibilities:
- Define and lead the overall technology vision and roadmap for the super app, encompassing ride-hailing, additional services, and backend infrastructure.
- Oversee the entire engineering lifecycle, from designing and building robust systems to deployment and maintenance.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of software engineers, data engineers, and other technical talent.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science teams to ensure seamless product development and execution.
- Champion best practices in software development methodologies, including Agile, DevSecOps, and Zero Trust.
- Implement and maintain a strong focus on security, scalability, and reliability of the platform.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends within the engineering landscape.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and hold teams accountable for delivering on engineering goals.
Your Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering leadership roles.
- Proven track record of building and scaling high-performance engineering teams for complex, distributed systems and delivering elegant, scalable solutions.
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, and distributed systems principles.
- Experience with building and maintaining highly scalable and reliable platforms.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor engineers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Agile/DevSecOps methodologies and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience leading engineering teams and delving into technical details to assist the team in making decisions that result in efficient, flexible, scalable systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and under your own initiative.
- Problem solving skills, analytical skills and the ability to make decisions and deliver solution quickly.
- Highly ownership, Can-Do attitude with dusty hands by working as ONE team over the star player, support, collaborate and sync up with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
Bonus Points:
- Experience working with super apps or multi-service platforms.
- Understanding of the on-demand services industry and its unique technical challenges.
- Experience building and managing high-talent teams.
