I. JOB PURPOSE

The Finance Director – Performance Optimization will lead financial initiatives to maximize cost efficiency, enhance investment effectiveness, and improve commercial performance across VinFast’s entire value chain — from product development to manufacturing, procurement, and sales. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering actionable insights, challenging business assumptions, and driving high-impact transformation projects aligned with the company’s aggressive growth and global expansion.

II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team: Manage directly 3 Finance Directors

1. Vehicle Development Optimization

• Lead Bill of Materials (BOM) cost reduction initiatives across vehicle platforms (EVs, E-scooters, E-buses, and R&D parts projects).
  
• Optimize capital expenditure and investment costs of product development programs.
  
• Drive cost discipline across Product Development Division, ensuring resource efficiency and budget adherence.
  
• Conduct specialized post-audit reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities and systemic improvement areas.
  

2. Manufacturing & Purchasing Optimization

• Analyze and implement optimal inventory management strategies to balance working capital and operational needs.
  
• Reduce production costs through in-depth performance reviews and lean manufacturing practices.
  
• Evaluate and improve capital investment efficiency for manufacturing projects, both pre-implementation and post-implementation.
  
• Assess make-or-buy decisions, joint venture structures, and project feasibility to improve financial outcomes.
  
• Review and compare manufacturing models (CKD, IKD, PxP) for Vietnam and international plants to guide strategic choices.
  
• Coordinate with relevant teams to determine and optimize Regional Value Content (RVC) and Localization Rates (LVC/TKDN) for tax and regulatory compliance benefits.
  

3. Sales Optimization

• Review and assess sales policies, pricing strategies (e.g., MSRP), and aftersales incentives for financial effectiveness.
  
• Evaluate the performance and ROI of various distribution channels and go-to-market strategies.
  
• Propose initiatives to increase revenue and reduce costs in spare parts and accessories sales.
  
• Conduct post-implementation reviews, market model analysis, and thematic studies requested by the Executive Leadership Team.
  
  
  
  

III. REQUIREMENTS

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
  
• MBA, CFA, ACCA, or CPA certification is a strong advantage.
  

Experience

• Minimum 10 years in corporate finance, financial planning, or performance management.
  
• Solid experience working with large-scale investment and cost optimization projects in manufacturing, automotive, or high-tech industries.
  
• Prior exposure to global companies or consulting environments (Big 4, McKinsey, BCG, etc.) is preferred.
