The Alias Modeler role bridges the gap between conceptual design and engineering feasibility by delivering precise, high-quality digital surface models that preserve design intent while meeting functional and manufacturing requirements.

This position ensures design concepts are accurately translated into 3D digital surfaces using Autodesk Alias, contributing directly to the visual identity and performance of automotive products.

Responsible for developing surfaces from Concept, Class-C, Class-B through final Class-A release.

Works closely with designers, engineers, and modeling specialists to shape both the aesthetic and functional excellence of vehicles from concept to production.

Main Duties

Automotive styling and engineering design experience across both Exterior and Interior departments.

Create high-quality 3D surface models for vehicle exteriors and interiors using Autodesk Alias.

Translate 2D sketches and concept designs into detailed digital surface models.

Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to balance styling intent with technical requirements.

Refine and validate models to meet Class-A surfacing standards.

Prepare surface data for design reviews, presentations, and engineering handoff.

Implement rapid model updates based on feedback from design and management reviews.

Ensure all models are production-ready and meet manufacturing feasibility requirements.

Work with visualization teams to support rendering and VR presentations.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transportation Design or Industrial Design.

8+ years of professional experience as an Alias Modeler or Digital Surface Modeler within the automotive or transportation design industry.

Demonstrated expertise in creating Class-A surfaces using Autodesk Alias for both exterior and interior vehicle components.

Proven experience collaborating with designers, engineers, and visualization teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Experience with additional tools such as CATIA or VRED is a strong plus.
