THE ROLE
The Marketing Intelligence Senior Specialist is responsible for managing the company’s database, troubleshooting data issues, and creating reports/proposals for the Management Team. In addition, he/she will analyze the competitive price movements, display status, competitive promotions, and sell-out data and direct the sales teams to take action on a weekly basis.
The position is based in Hanoi. He/she hierarchically reports to the Trade Marketing Manage
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the database (MCS) smoothly and develop it to be more effective through frequent checking of all data sources and necessary adjustments.
- Extract data from primary and secondary sources of all channels (TT, MT, Project), then “clean” data (update, delete, modify, fix errors & related problems.
- Interpret & reorganize data into a readable format and be ready for business analysis purposes.
- Consolidate a large volume of data to generate fact-based analysis/reports that are crucial for business strategy in both the short & long-term: DMX sales-out/stock report, Shop scanning report, and Sales Analysis.
- Utilize Power BI and Tableau to create engaging dashboards that visualize data trends and support decision-making.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues impacting sales performance and provide actionable insights
- Build up and implement not only limited procedures, processes, templates, and mechanisms… to improve data gathering results.
- Act as the owner of the intelligence database, covering competitors, internal sales in/out, promotions, distribution, and GFK.
- Take a leading role in collecting updated market information to ensure data accuracy frequently.
- Produce regular reports/dashboards/snapshots of market movement, including new products, launching, pricing as well as other changes through primary & secondary methodology.
- Perform in-depth analysis of overall market growth/share and performance by distributor, region, and product segment on request.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders within the Marketing Dept and other Depts (Sales, Logistics…) to support for Strategic decisions of the General Director and Board of Management.
- Periodically update the product benchmark database to get a comprehensive understanding of competitor movement and competitor intelligence.
- Understand channel dynamics, merchandising, and shopper insights through awareness and abreast latest competitive trends.
- Collect market information and enter it in the electronic format developed by the company.
- Monitor trade marketing activities of the competitors.
- Conduct market research such as customer questionnaires, focus groups, and on-site interviews.
- Screening competitor activity, evaluating visibility & market coverage of the company’s products through regular market visits.
REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Information Management, or Economics.
- Fluency in English (Speaking and Writing).
- Strong mathematical skills, data mining, analyzing, reporting, presentation, and logical thinking.
- 3-4 years experience in Data/Business Analysis or related field.
- Proven experience in working with large data sets and multiple database systems.
- Category: FMCG, Electronic Appliances, Construction Materials.
- Feel comfortable when dealing with numeric data, and ability to translate technical/raw data into business language.
- Ability to take multitask, people and team-oriented, ‘Can do” attitude.
- Hard-working, energetic, and proactive individual with strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to think critically but be creative regarding reports or proposals.
