* Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Controller with over 3 years of experience in corporate finance, or audit to oversee the financial operations of our minimart and convenience store business. Prefer candidate having experience in Retail.
* Key Responsibilities
* Financial Management & Analysis
- Manage and monitor Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for each store and consolidated business unit.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability.
- Conduct variance analysis between actuals, forecasts, and budgets.
* Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support and propose the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting.
- Collaborate with store managers and operations teams to align financial plans with business goals.
- Develop financial models to support expansion and operational decisions.
* Capex & Opex Control
- Oversee capital expenditure (Capex) planning and approval processes.
- Monitor operating expenses (Opex) and ensure cost efficiency across stores.
* Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
* Process Improvement & Systems
- Implement and improve financial controls, procedures, and systems.
- Support ERP system integration with financial reporting tools.
- Drive automation and digitization of financial workflows.
* Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, procurement, and HR to align financial strategies.
* New stores opening
- Prepare feasibility study / business case for new stores.
- Evaluate ROI for new store openings, renovations, and equipment purchases.
