Join us as a Senior Data Quality Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Quality Engineer with a strong data analysis and analytics engineering background to drive data quality assurance initiatives to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across the data platform. You will collaborate closely with the Data Team and product owners to deliver high-quality data-powered products, analytics dashboards, and business-critical reports for our customers and business stakeholders. Your hybrid expertise in analytics modeling and data quality strategies will help shape a solid foundation for our Data Quality and Governance function in Ascenda.
Responsibilities
- Requirement Analysis: Collaborate closely with product owners in product teams to discover and define the data & quality requirements for their data-powered products, analytics dashboards, and reporting.
- Data Validation: Provide professional service & consultation support to product quality engineers in product teams to develop test plans, design test cases, and improve their quality testing methods on various data products.
- Data Quality Strategy: Work actively with engineers in the Data Team to design and implement data quality testing strategy, data quality monitoring, and data quality automation to ensure they deliver high-quality data marts.
- Issue Identification and Resolution: Deep dive into business-critical domain data marts and perform data profiling and analysis to identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential areas for data quality improvements.
- Process Improvement: Engage with the Data Team to recommend and implement data quality improvement and data governance initiatives.
- Mentorship: Mentor engineers and analysts to upskill their data quality and data governance knowledge, and grow them to be the next generation of subject matter experts in Ascenda.
What we're looking for:
- Strong background in analytics engineering or data analyst roles.
- Hands-on experience in data product requirements analysis by collaborating effectively with product owners, technical leads, and business stakeholders to understand what data and product experience that users really need.
- Hands-on experience working with complex SQL logic and building dashboards or reports to convey insights to stakeholders
- Hands-on experience working with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks is a plus.
- Have demonstrated experience in identifying data quality problems and implementing data quality initiatives in a data organization.
- Strong understanding of data quality assessment methodologies, data testing automation, and data profiling techniques.
- Familiar with data management tools and technologies, such as data cataloging, metadata management, and data quality tools.
- Good understanding of data engineering, analytics engineering, and data governance.
