This opening is for a Lead Functional Safety Engineer. This position will lead a Functional Safety Engineer team to incharge all EE module. The Lead Functional Safety Engineer will lead and execute the functional safety activities for EE Division to ensure VinFast EVs meet the required safety standards and regulations.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the ADAS functional safety lifecycle activities for any one ADAS feature such as AEB, ACC, LKA, ELKA, ALCA, ALKA, FAPA, RP etc., including hazard analysis, risk assessment, safety requirements specification, design, implementation, verification, and validation.
• Review of Supplier ADAS interface with BMS/VCU/EDS/PDU/DCDC/OBC Component design at system level & judgment – ADAS L1, L2 and L2+ feature TSC, system, HSI, FMEA, FTA, DFA, FMEDA state transition diagram, HW-SW interface test method & report, system interface test report & test methods, vehicle integration test spec & test report, Vehicle validation test spec and test report.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, hardware, software, V&V and quality assurance, to ensure safety requirements are appropriately implemented and validated
• Conduct ADAS (L1, L2, L2+) safety analyses, such as FMEA, FTA, HAZOP, DFA and FMEDA, to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies of any one ADAS feature (ACC, AEB, NOP, LCC, ALKA, ALCA, LKA, ELKA).
• Management & Define of IEC 61508, ISO 26262 1st edition, 2nd Edition, SOTIF ISO 21448 and ASPICE L3 merging process i.e. organization specific process & guideline
• Functional safety Autonomous driving Exemption certification for Europe
• Functional safety assessment for EU regulation such as R79, R152, R13-H, R121, R10 R157, R2021_646, WP.29 etc
• Analysis of functional safety regulation requirement of Europe, UAE, Singapore, Japan, US and China
• Develop and maintain functional safety documentation, including safety plans, Safety case reports, and manuals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to functional safety engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
• Stay current with the latest functional safety standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure our processes and practices remain compliant.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and certification bodies to ensure that our products meet their safety requirements and expectations.
• Participate in safety audits and assessments and drive corrective actions to address any identified gaps or non-conformances.
• Define and improve safety processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our functional safety activities and ensure continuous improvement.
• Review of Safety EE architecture
• Lead DIA sign off with Supplier
• Review FMEDA and DFA
• Be flexible to travel overseas on occasion
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/ Electrical & Electronics /Automotive Electronics or equivalent.
• Minimum 10+ year of experience of testing on functional safety engineering
• Strong knowledge of functional safety standards, such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508.
• Proven experience conducting safety analyses, such as FMEA, FTA, HAZOP, DFA and FMEDA.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
• Experience with requirement tools - Polarion or DOORs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• The ability to adapt to changing schedules.
• The capability to work independently in an organised and structured fashion
• Certification in functional safety, such as Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) or Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP), is a plus.
• Have knowledge of regional electrical regulations and standards in target markets (EU/US/CA/SEA).
