Brief summary of job profile: The General Accountant supports the month-end close process, the external audit, and maintains an understanding of GAAP and how it applies to Highlands Coffee Roastery. This role is also responsible for providing supporting to all accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the financial reporting processes.

Key Accountabilities:

1. General Accounting Management

• Responsible for general accounting & policy application for all cycles including receivables/ payables, inventory, revenue recognition, etc.
• Ensure all accounting activities of Highlands Coffee Roastery are recorded properly according to the Vietnamese law and to company requirements.
• Review paperwork & documentation needed to record transactions accurately according to GAAP, VAS, tax regulations, update on accounting, tax & legal regulations.
• Secure financial information by completing data base backups.
• Drive account reconciliation preparation & review on a monthly basis.
• Tax declaration and finalization (VAT, CIT, PIT, etc.).
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

2. Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Perform financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Process vendor invoices, ensure accuracy, and manage payment schedules.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensuring accuracy of financial records.
• Monitor accounts receivable balances, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain customer records.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.

3. Internal Controls and Compliance

• Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Support the Finance cum Chief Accountant in conducting periodic audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Coordinate with auditors during external audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.

4. Financial Reporting Support

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Compile and analyze financial data to support the Finance cum Chief Accountant in generating accurate and timely reports.

5. Others

• Responsible for identifying areas for process improvement and implementing best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s financial operations.
• Support the Finance & Accounting Manager in various financial tasks and projects as needed.
• Perform ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as needed by management, such as financial analysis, special reports, or system implementations
