- Ensures that all new employees attend the Hotel Orientation program
- Conducts training needs analysis of the hotel and departments.
- Coordinates with Department Heads, develop departmental on the job training schedules that meet departmental operating objectives.
- Designs, produces and implements training programs to meet specific department/hotel needs.
- Establishes a training library of books, videos, journals and resources to assist trainer and employee development.
- Prepares and administer the training calendar on a regular basis.
- Ensures all employees receive ongoing training in Best Western International Training Programs.
- Facilitates management training programs.
- Sources and obtains specialist assistance to conduct training when needed.
- Monitors all training activities conducted on and off site.
- Evaluates training effectiveness by attending as many training sessions as possible.
- Liaises with educational institutions conducting hospitality training courses.
- Maintains an up to date record of suppliers of training resources.
- Administer the training budget and purchase training materials as required.
- Assists in the selection and appointment of new employees within the training department.
- Participates in the Hotel “Manager on Duty” program.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Implements opportunities for quality Team Building.
- Ensures that all employees comply with the grooming and uniform standards.
- Ensures compliance with legislated health and safety requirements within the workplace.
- Complies with all Corporate and Hotel Standards and Procedures.
- Actively promotes a working environment, which cares for guests and employees alike.
- Manages the administration of trainees and apprentices on the property.
