About Us

Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd is a joint venture between Damen Shipyards Group in the Netherlands (70%) and Song Cam Shipyard (30%), member of SBIC and based in Haiphong, Vietnam. At a 42 hectare site just outside Haiphong, Damen Song Cam is a strategic and preferred production location within the Damen Shipyards Group to produce tugboats and workboats. At the moment, the shipyard is a dedicated outfitting shipyard, outfitting, commissioning and delivering approx. 40 vessels per year to clients worldwide. At a later stage Damen Song Cam will further increase its production facilities to deliver approx. 80 vessels a year and will start to produce some of the hulls which are currently sub-contracted to other yards.

The role

The foreman manages the assigned team of workers within the Workshop. The foreman's primary responsibility is to ensure that the work is completed safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards. oversees the day-to-day operations of team to ensure that the necessary skills, documents, tools, equipment and materials to complete the tasks are available.

Key Accountabilities

Safety: Making sure that all works are executed according to Company policies, rules and regulations.

Complying with all Safety directives and work instructions
Immediately reporting any incident or potential hazard to their Manager or Safety Officer
Submitting work permit when required
Initiating and contributing to job risk assessment
Addressing unsafe behavior
Teaching safe behavior

Team coordination: Coordinating and managing appointed employees.

Maintaining, supervising, and training personnel required to accomplish all assigned and upcoming tasks
Daily assign tasks to construction workers
Be the liaison between workers and managers
Assessing team skills and performances together with the department manager
Train, motivate, appraise and provide feedback on training requirement to uplift the skill of subordinates
Taking care of the daily attendance, time management and hours-booking for the assigned team
taking measures to avoid interruptions of the works and the reduction of the unproductive time
Taking initiative for communication with the other foremen, who perform an activity adjacent to the one of his own team so that to ensure the continuity of the works
Promoting teamwork and a pleasant working atmosphere

Quality and inspections: Looking after quality of tasks execution and completion for the assigned team.

Developing workers knowledge of shipbuilding and Damen quality standard
Proactive participation in identifying errors onboard
Promoting “first time right” mentality
Regularly inspect works execution
Performing internal inspections to ensure that the tasks execution is of set standards prior to offering for QC / Client inspections
Timely follow up on reported quality issues
Avoiding damage of equipment, materials and tools
Checking employees work activities based on drawings and materials. Reporting deviations and giving instructions
Reporting of all the non-conformities and anomalies he finds with the documentation, parts, materials, TDC (tools, devices and checkers), assigned machines

Efficiency and supervision: Ensuring that the assigned tasks are staying within budget and time constraints and regularly report the progress of the tasks to superiors.

Monitoring and reporting progress of assigned tasks
keeping and reporting deviation from detailed planning (Production Orders)
Assessing right amount of people assigned to each task
Monitoring hours consumption on assigned tasks and timely raising deviation from budget
Discussing the required capacity with the department leader
Syncing the work activities between leads of other disciplines under the guidance of Ship Coordinators
Inform the Ship Coordinator of any deviation from the schedule or risks observed in relation to progress, hours consumed and/or quality as soon as it arises
Making sure the workspace is kept clean and tidy
Suggesting new way of working to improve efficiency

Work scheduling and preparation: Collecting all ship coordinator schedule and define priorities for the assigned team. Making sure all information and conditions for job execution are available.

Ensuring that (skilled) manpower, drawings, materials and tools required are requisitioned in a timely manner and made available in accordance with schedule requirements so that jobs are started and finished in a timely and efficient manner
He provides document control (ensures, records and distributes the relevant documents)
Timely reporting any expected deviation from scheudle to ship coordinator
Discussing irregularities and deficits with the supporting departments (Ship coordinator, Material Coordination, Work Preparation, Production Support, Engineering, ..)
Reviewing in advance technical content of the job and address criticalities to the team

Tools management: Ensuring effective and productive use of tools and consumables

Instructing subordinates regarding the maintenance of the working technological order and discipline, of the utilization instructions, maintenance of the installations, machines and equipment as well as of the handling, transport and storing rules
Looking after a correct and efficient usage of materials and tools
Verifying daily the technical condition of the assigned equipment and tools
Keeping contact with maintenance for proper tools maintenance, replacement and/or repair
Suggesting new tools needs and usage

Other contributions: Carrying out additional tasks as per Manager requirements.

Assist in estimating both extra works and new works when required
Advising the Workshop manager about necessary investments and purchasing of new equipment and tools
Takes timely actions to allow Production Orders closure
Provides feedback both on Product, process and Production Order content
Adhering to company policies

Skills & Experience

Education & skill:
University graduation of related major
Good Written and Verbal English
Technical insight
Computer literate
Management and leadership skill
Experience: 2 to 5 year experience in related positions

Lịch sử thành lập

Năm 1993, Thành lập Công ty TNHH Sản xuất và Thương mại Tân Á. Sản xuất thành công Bồn nước inox. Là doanh nghiệp đầu tiên cung cấp Bồn nước inox ở thị trường trong nước.
Năm 1995 - 2000, Thành lập Công ty TNHH Sản xuất và Thương mại Nam Đại Thành. Thành lập Công ty TNHH Sản xuất và Thương mại Tân Á Đông.
Năm 2002, Sản xuất thành công Máy nước nóng Năng lượng mặt trời. Là đơn vị tiên phong cung cấp sản phẩm Máy nước nóng NLMT tại Việt Nam.
Năm 2005, Nghiên cứu, sản xuất thành công sản phẩm: Bình nước nóng và Chậu rửa inox. Đưa vào hoạt động 3 nhà máy: Tân Á Đại Thành Hưng Yên, Tân Á Đại Thành Đà Nẵng, Tân Á Đại Thành Hồ Chí Minh.
Năm 2007, Sáp nhập Công ty Tân Á; Công ty Nam Đại Thành; Công ty Tân Á Đông với tên gọi chung Tập đoàn Tân Á Đại Thành. Đầu tư xây dựng Nhà máy sản xuất kim khí gia dụng tại Huyện Cư Jút, Tỉnh Đắk Nông với quy mô 30.000m2.

Năm 2014, Nghiên cứu và phát triển sản phẩm thành công Máy lọc nước RO. Trở thành thành viên của Hiệp hội tráng men quốc tế DEV (Deutsche Email Verband) của CHLB Đức.
Năm 2016, Khánh thành Nhà máy Nhựa Stroman Việt Nam với tổng số vốn đầu tư 70 triệu USD. Xác lập thị phần số 1 Việt Nam sản phẩm: Bồn inox – bồn nhựa; Máy nước nóng năng lượng mặt trời; Bình nước nóng.
Năm 2018, Khánh thành Nhà máy Tân Á Đại Thành (tháng 12/2018) tại tỉnh Long An. Vinh dự đón nhận Huân chương Lao động hạng Nhất vào ngày 19/12
Năm 2019, Tái cấu trúc sáp nhập Tập đoàn Tân Á Đại Thành để phát triển lớn mạnh, vươn tầm Quốc tế. Mở rộng hoạt động kinh doanh sang lĩnh vực bất động sản bằng việc thành lập Công ty cổ phần Bất động sản Tập đoàn Tân Á Đại Thành Meyland, triển khai đồng loạt nhiều dự án bất động sản trên cả nước
Năm 2020, Vinh dự đón nhận Cờ thi đua do Thủ tướng Chính phủ trao tặng. Ra mắt sản phẩm “Bộ lọc nước đầu nguồn Tân Á Đại Thành Beluga”. Được công nhận là Thương hiệu Quốc gia lần thứ 4 liên tiếp. Sáp nhập Công ty Cổ phần Đầu tư xây dựng HUD Kiên Giang vào Tập đoàn Tân Á Đại Thành/2018.
