About The Team

Operation Excellence (OPEX) is the center for operational innovation, continuously looking for opportunities to improve cost and quality of SPX services. The Performance Management team manages end-to-end networks across all functions, with a focus on lead-time improvement and network stability.

We are seeking a talented and experienced strategic Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing network planning projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our logistics operations. This role requires strong project management skills, a deep understanding of network planning principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Job Description

Project Planning and Execution

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements, for improvement initiatives.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings, establish project governance structures, and define roles and responsibilities for project team members.
  • Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues and escalate as necessary to ensure timely resolution.

Network Analysis and Optimization

  • Conduct thorough analysis of our network, including transportation routes, distribution centers, warehousing facilities, and inventory management processes.
  • Identify opportunities for network optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement through operational flow and COT design.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize network capacity, reduce transit times, and enhance service quality for our customers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations (First Last Miles, Sorting Center, Linehaul), BI…. to align planning projects with business objectives and priorities.
  • Foster collaboration and communication across departments to ensure seamless integration of initiatives with broader organizational goals.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to higher-level management, including project plan, project progress, key performance indicators, and any issues or risks that require attention.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in logistics or transportation management.
  • 5+ years of industry experience with proven business impact
  • Strong understanding of network optimization principles, logistics operations, and supply chain best practice is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially in PowerPoint (or Google Presentations)
