Part-time/Full-time ESL Teacher

Job title: Part-time/Full-time Teacher

Teaching program: ESL/Communicative programs

Working location: Academic Department - IIG Academy - International/public schools in Hanoi, Vietnam

Report to: Academic Manager of IIG Academy

I. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

a. Teaching tasks:

• Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English language teaching on-site and off-site based on the company’s arrangement;
• Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities;
• Find new and productive ways of teaching students that will help them learn faster, and more efficiently;
• Work with Academic Department and School-link Coordinator team to solve problems related to students’ behavior and academic performance, when needed;
• Obey the regulations of the course and co-operate with IIG Academy in the management of the course.

Expected outputs

• Be willing to substitute when required;
• Satisfy the KPIs;

b. Assessments and Reports:

• Conducting and marking students’ progress and end-of-course/ term tests (oral/ written tests). Results shall be given within one week after the administration of the tests;
• Write periodical class reports and student reports to give feedback on their progress and performance (if required);
• Monitoring learner progress and providing timely feedback to course supervisor/ SC to manage learners’ performance throughout a course/ academic year.

Expected outputs

• Complete tests, test marking and reports timely.
• Give accurate, objective and impartial scores and feedback to students.

c. Staff Development/Training/Reviews/Meetings

• Participate in teacher training sessions and staff meeting activities;
• Contribute to the evaluation, development and improvement of English language courses, materials, assessment and related services.

Expected outputs

• Attend 3 training sessions per school year (each is 4 hours at most).
• Actively participates in training activities.
• Complete all assessment tests after the training as required.

d. Other Activities: 

• Be willing to participate in school events/ extracurricular activities when required;

II. REQUIREMENTS

• Nationality: US, UK, Canada, Australian, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa.
• Qualifications:

Must have: University degree (preferred in Education, English Language, TESOL or Master degree in English linguistics).

A recognized teaching certificate (CELTA, DELTA, TEFL, TESOL) and/or Master degree in ELT, Applied Linguistics is an advantage.

• Experience: At least 01 year of experience in teaching English for students aged from 6 to 17. Having experience teaching at public schools and goal curriculums are preferred.
• Knowledge: Preferred knowledge on teaching methodologies, principles and methods for curriculum and training design.
• Skills:

Ability to motivate learners;

Communication and presentation skills;

Critical thinking and problem-solving;

Team working and decision making;

Multi-tasking, working under high pressure, organization.

• IT & software: Competent in MS Word, Excel, Project, PPT;
• Personal quality:

Honest, enthusiastic, dynamic, innovative, and confident

Willing to work in professional development.

High commitment with the center/company, and the teacher’s role.
