THE BUSINESS SCHOOL

The Business School is the largest School in RMIT Vietnam with approximately eight thousand students on two campuses (Ho Chi Minh Saigon South and Hanoi). The school has three departments, more than 130 academic staff, four research fellows and 25 Professional staff. In terms of programs there are four bachelor programs, two PGCert programs, two Master programs and two PhD programs. Each department has one program and the fourth program has nine majors supported across the departments. The school is one of five schools of the RMIT College of Business and Law, Melbourne.

There are six research clusters in the school, three hubs and a forward plan will seek to conflate this structure to a Digital technologies centre and sustainability cluster, with Tourism and Hospitality spanning both domains. The expertise and research foci of the school are blockchain, cryptocurrencies, cybersecurity, smart cities, sustainability, and these contribute to the four RMIT pillars for research.

Recent growth areas have been in research and corporate education (AACSB accreditation is expected in 2025). Staff are currently transitioning into semester teaching whilst the school maintains three intakes and delivery. A new workload allocation framework is now applied to accommodate these developments.

Position Summary

The Visiting Academic / Professor will be responsible for teaching a course of 36 contact hours in the MIB program at RMIT Vietnam, delivered face-to-face at either the Saigon South or Hanoi campus. The course is typically conducted over two weekends (Saturday and Sunday, full-day sessions). Comprehensive teaching materials, including assessments, are provided; however, feedback and suggestions for enhancement are welcomed.

In addition to teaching, the role includes standard course administration duties such as grading assignments, participating in moderation processes, managing student communications, and ensuring timely submission of results. This is a focused teaching role, with no research or supervisory responsibilities beyond the effective delivery and administration of the assigned course.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY

• Deliver high-quality teaching in the MIB program including the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, workshops, and online learning activities.
• Design and develop course content and assessment materials that are rigorous, industry-relevant, and aligned with RMIT’s graduate capabilities and quality standards.
• Assess student learning through formative and summative evaluations, provide timely and constructive feedback, and ensure academic integrity in assessment practices.
• Engage in continuous improvement of course content and teaching methods based on student feedback, peer reviews, and developments in the discipline.
• Participate in course administration duties, including managing student enquiries, and ensuring timely grade submissions and course moderation.
• Support student learning by providing academic advice, facilitating access to resources, and fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Adhere to the requirements of the Academic Expectations and Development Framework of RMIT Vietnam.
  
  

Our Requirements

• Academic Qualifications and Research Profile: A doctorate degree in Management, International Business or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution is essential. Candidates must demonstrate an active record of scholarly engagement, including publications in peer-reviewed journals, and participation in relevant academic, professional, or industry networks.
• Postgraduate Teaching Excellence: Proven experience in delivering high-quality teaching at the postgraduate level, ideally within MIB programs. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to create and facilitate student-centred, research-informed learning experiences in face-to-face settings, with evidence of strong student outcomes and positive feedback.
• Curriculum and Assessment Development: Demonstrated capability in designing rigorous, relevant course materials and assessment strategies aligned with program learning outcomes and international quality benchmarks. Experience with assurance of learning processes and evidence of continuous course improvement based on student and stakeholder feedback is required.
• Commitment to RMIT Values and Regulatory Compliance: Evidence of alignment with RMIT’s values, including a strong commitment to academic integrity, ethical practice, and inclusion. Applicants must be able to operate effectively within Vietnamese legal frameworks and adhere to RMIT’s internal academic quality assurance standards.
  
  

English Proficiency

• English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (Academic) with a score of at least 7.0. For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
