Job overview:
- EMASI Nam Long and EMASI Van Phuc are purpose-built facilities. Both schools offer a dual language programme that will combine the requirements of the Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) with the Cambridge International Curriculum Framework.
- The School Counsellor is a member of Child Protection Team and Health & Safety Committee who plays a vital role in supporting students' academic, career, and personal development; supporting students in solving difficulties in their psychological life, preventing negative impacts that can affect the quality of life and learning of students; coordinating relevant departments to handle arising situations related to students.
- The Experiential Education Teacher is responsible for the delivery of Experiential Education lessons to the secondary students in line with the Vietnamese MOET curriculum framework.
* Responsibilities and Duties:
● Classify and develop a plan to organize periodic psychological workshops for students and teachers.
● Listen to students' concerns about academic, emotional or social problems; help students process their mental problems; support homeroom teachers to mediate conflict between students.
● Support teachers in handling students with psychological symptoms in class.
● Organize peer counselling programs for parents and refer students to psychologists and other mental health resources if necessary.
● Regularly communicate with teachers, parents and administrators about a student's progress. Mediate and improve relationships between students, parents, and teachers.
● Observe and raise awareness about important issues such as abuse, bullying, and other significant challenges faced by students in school.
● Teach Experiential Education lesson to the secondary students in line with the Vietnamese framework.
● Attend punctually on all occasions agreed in the contract and as reasonably requested.
● Substitute for absent colleagues when necessary.
● Carry out fully and efficiently pastoral and administrative duties as assigned.
● Participate in after/out of school events such as: staff team briefing, staff team meetings, parents' evenings, residential/educational visits, as may be reasonably requested.
● Be responsible for a reasonable number of playground, lunch and other duties as may be required.
● Organise and run before and after school EAL extracurricular activities where applicable.
● Offer full support, take an active part and input into the development of a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated activities programme.
● Coordinate and liaise with the University Counsellor to provide a comprehensive support service for high school students.
● Any other tasks assigned by the Managing Director after due consultation.

* Qualifications: Relevant Bachelor degree and recognised teaching qualification.
Be able to use English in work.
* Experience: Experience in an international / bilingual school setting preferred.

● Possess a knowledge of the psychology of children, adolescence and young adults, human growth and development and learning needs, and the relationship of counselling to the continuum of experiences in the lives of the students with whom they interact.
