Our Consumer Goods Division is dedicated to helping brands, retailers and manufacturers worldwide deliver safe, quality and ethically made products to their consumers. Job Description
Reporting directly to our Asia Technical Manager and working closely with the inspections’ team in your region, you will be responsible for the technical support and skills development of the front-end team for the textile products inspections.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Be To
- Continuously assess and monitor the inspection team on their technical capabilities and identify the potential gaps compared to the expectations from the clients and the requirements of our services.
- Identify the top performers and inspectors who are not at the expected level of technical knowledge.
- Deliver a comprehensive training plan to the inspectors who need specific skills development.
- Conduct one-on-one training and group workshops, to the inspectors, physically and remotely.
- Monitor the inspection team on technical topics through clients’ feedback, KPI, on-site shadows and report reviews.
- Interview the candidates at the recruitment stage, technically evaluate and select them through interview, theoretical tests, and practical tests in order to only retain the candidates with a strong technical knowledge of textile products and processes.
- Develop, create and maintain the standard assessment, training and test materials.
- Provide technical training to the new inspectors on QIMA Inspection SOP, IT and physical inspections tools, standard and client dedicated technical trainings.
- Deliver the QIMA inspector certificate to the new inspectors who have successfully passed the final evaluation before they are allowed to inspect on their own.
- Act as the main QIMA interlocutor with the clients locally, ensure that their technical requirements are integrated at all levels and that inspectors have the skills and knowledge to meet them.
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Textile Technology
- Practical experience of at least 10 years in the textile industry, preferably in production and quality assurance.
- Strong expertise in garments production manufacturing processes and technologies, including the most recent ones.
- In-depth understanding of the textile machinery and technologies and their quality implications at the different stages of the production process.
- Strong knowledge of the quality management systems deployed in modern textile manufacturing.
- Ability to audits the manufacturing processes and quality systems of garments manufacturing factories. Ability to propose and deploy quality improvement action plans.
- Proficiency in English and in the local language of your base country.
